Honestly I'm just looking around at the moment. Perhaps at some point I should say something more about myself, like that I enjoy biking, rock climbing, yoga, and general fitness type stuff. I would also probably, if I ever get around to it, mention how bad I am at playing the guitar... though I persist. I guess I would bring up that I'm studying science and working at a plant pathology lab on the OSU campus, where I'll likely be through my grad degree. At this point I'd be sure to add something about my amateur photography, or my love of (and skill at) cooking, and then a general sort of warning that I'm not at all religious, and leave off with a brief mention that I'm in decent (albeit not wonderful... yet ;D ) shape, have short, dark-brown hair, glasses and a goatee, or something like that.

Just got back from a wonderful term in London, getting back in the swing of things in Oregon...

I graduate in June and will probably move far away, but I figure I can find someone to enjoy my last few months with and have a little fun while slaving away to finish my degree!

I'm pretty easy-going. I can't stand drama or anyone who thrives on it. I don't take myself seriously AT ALL. Life's no fun if you can't laugh at yourself.

I love to swing dance, and while I am learning East Coast swing, I really have my heart set on the Lindy Hop.

I am a junior in Mechanical Engineering and I have finally gotten into the good stuff. What is the good stuff you may ask? Figuring out refrigeration cycles and steam power cycles, being able to solve for the time a piece of steel will take to cool from 500 degrees to room temp with wind blowing over the surface, figuring out how much force I can apply to a table or metal frame before is will deform/break.

Right now I'm playing Dodgeball sundays and wednesdays and laying out in the sun on the sunny days.

First off, I think you've got amazing talent! You're brillant. I mean what can I say you managed to find me! But then again, who spends their time reading all this f*cking bullsh1t... Oh well, I'm 19 and very single. Behind my apparent "F*CK you and the world" attitude that I seem to portray, I tend to be a pretty nice guy. When I'm not busy with school and work, I enjoy spending time chatting with friends and watching movies. Unfortunately I usually find myself sitting at Starbucks alone all too often. I'm an engineering student at Oregon State, working on a chemical engineering degree. I have a lot of nerd-type interests, but not exclusively. My sense of humor tends toward sarcasm, but I don't mock people (unless they REALLY deserve it, or I know they won't care). I'm quite liberal and open-minded and try not to judge anyone.

As far as interests go, I like technology, gaming, movies and novels-- especially science fiction and fantasy. I also secretly like poetry and not-so-secretly like chocolate. Some may consider me a little bit naive, as I still believe in the essential goodness of people. Most people who know me well refer to me as 'adorable', but a small portion find me terrifying. Currently, I am looking to start secondary intimate relationships with people I can love. My style of dating is on the tender, homey side. I enjoy sex and kinky play as much as or more than the next person (I'm on Fetlife as Feygon), but beautiful experiences are my romantic bread and butter. The best of these are cuddling. I am really turned on by smart people, especially smart artsy people, including things outside acting such as music and dancing and graphic design and occasionally foreign languages and culture (which is kinda artsy, really). Self-confidence is another important thing for me, rather a theme in my life these days. Being in theatre, I have a keen eye for passive-aggressive behavior in myself and others. Self-awareness and confidence come hand in hand. Also, I grow increasingly convinced that Corvallis and OSU is owned and operated by and for Goblins. On the religious front, I am pagan. I am heavily opposed to anything oppressive to the rights and creativity of people, and my ethical views are ecocentric and anti-authoritarian. This includes everyday interaction; absolute statements of opinion are a BIG turnoff, and I am very sensitive to them. They make me squint and angle my head ever so slightly... like this. Yep. Like that.

I've been a pirate in the SCA for about 5 years now. My main events are Gathering and Gypsy Days & Seadog Nights. These days I'm with the Blue Wolves Den, but I've previously been with the Wolves Den, Leo's Pride and the Raven's Lust, until those particular groups became inhospitable or began to sink, as ships and social arrangements occasionally do. Now I've got the land under my feet in a house, so perhaps it'll last. The major difference between a house and pirate ship is the structure of leadership vs. authority. The SCA tends to bring out the unfortunate tendency of a tightly packed social group to form a hierarchy of authority, and/or for one or two dumbasses to fuck it up for everyone else through their drama. I promise I'm not the common denominator.

I'm generally a pretty reserved person... not so much shy, but I'm just always thinking (Boring, I know). Basically I'm just social when I want to be. I think the best way to describe myself is to say that I love talking with people. Getting to know people is hugely important to me, it's how I learn more about myself. So, whoever you are, I'd probably love to get to know more about you (for completely selfish reasons...).

I'm a little bit of every stereotype I can think of. I think most people are, they've just found their niche a little better/quicker than I have. I like to think I'm that one damn puzzle piece that you cannot figure out where it goes, but it seems to fit in so many places and it could be any of them and ARRRGHH where does it GO!?

I'm a fairly opinionated person, but I definitely still appreciate a well thought out opinion, no matter how different it is from mine. I also have been known to muster the courage to suggest that I was incorrect or even flat wrong, so don't be too afraid to tell me what's what! I like to entertain the notion that a person with opinions can still talk to those of a completely different mindset and have both people walk away happy about the conversation. Pure craziness!

Several years back a coined a term for myself that has proven itself to be true throughout the years. I am a "cynical-optimist." I'm sure I'm not the only person who's ever used it, but it just works so well. I understand that things can work out well and I hope for the best. But I understand that people are selfish creatures and there isn't much you can do about it except strive to do the best you can at being considerate, and also work to be compassionate and understanding of others.

I've got a really huge heart. I love people... especially old folks and small children. I just moved to Oregon from Wisconsin, and I love it here so far. I love that there are mountains on the horizon and plenty of lakes and rivers to explore. I've really enjoyed getting out in the sun... what fabulous weather thus far! I like to read and write and act the part of the intellectual. I like to try to keep up with an intelligent conversation. I laugh often and easily. I sleep very soundly. I love things that smell good, and I adore tasty food, wine, and beer. I often wish I was a dancer/musician... and I imitate these art forms to the best of my physical and creative abilities. In general, I'm a hard-working, down-to-earth, rather amicable young woman. But I've also got a bit of an adventurous streak that I try not to let get me in trouble.

I might edit this later to something that provides a meaningful picture of my character, but for now I'm just going to say I'm a pretty carefree individual looking for fun people to hang out with. Male, female, both, none... Martian. Any of the above would be fine.

What do put here? ...I like to have fun. Granted, I don't imagine most people saying "y'know what? I really DON'T like having fun..." but it's still true. I like going camping, working-out, watching movies, and being with friends and family... but I also like to take the time and relax a little bit.

I have a bit of a goofy/sarcastic/dark/cheesy sense of humor... (laughs) Yeah, I know... that pretty much covers all the categories, but honestly, it's true. For instance, sometimes I'll laugh at horror movies when the "death scene" is just absurdly terrible, make a cheesy/sarcastic line like "hah! I bet he never saw that one coming! Better listen to the scary music next time, buddy!" and then when the movies over, make references to random quotes... whether from the movie we just saw, or not.

Mind you however, I don't normally watch horror movies, so if you come up to me asking if I've seen "Saw 6-ba-gillion and one," I'll probably reply with a blank stare. On the other hand though, it doesn't mean that I'm against seeing Saw 6-ba-gillion and one if you're really into that stuff, because 1.) I'm down with trying new things (for the most part) 2.) I aim to please (yes, dirty joke... ha ha... :P ) and 3.) It means I get to spend time with you (awww...) :D

I also spend some of my evenings at the Dixon Recreation Center from about 5:30-7:30pm Mon. Wed. and Fri... first 45 min or so in the weights area, the next hour on the row machine& ellipticals, and remainder swimming. I usually wear a white Nike hat, so if you're in the area, stop and say hi!

I've been told this is too short. Ok, last night on the bus I saw a backpack with the name "jester" on it. For some reason, my brain wandered to the scene in Top Gun wherein Mav and Goose "kill" Jester but it's below the hard deck. I got to wondering, if it's not legal for the trainees to kill below the hard deck, why are the instructors allowed to fly there except in cases of emergency? Why can the instructors cheat, but not the trainees? If the movie were logical, I'd assume it's something to do with the different planes the instructors and trainees were using. I wished I had someone to talk to this about when I got home. If you would be interested in this and/or other similarly random, pseudo- and sometimes truly philosophical/intellectual discussions, just for the sake of discussion, you might be for me.

Otherwise, I'm getting my PhD and otherwise thinking big thoughts on our educational system (including military training - why not?).

I'm a junior at Oregon State University. I just transferred here last September from Westminster College in Missouri. I'm a pretty shy and quiet person until I get to know you. I like to read, watch tv, cook, and hang out with friends. I love animals want to be a Veterinarian. I'm kind of a science and history nerd. I like going on random adventures with my friends and going on long drives. I love going to museums and old historical sites. I've moved around a lot my whole life. I've lived in Oregon, Washington, Missouri, and North Carolina. Including college I'm on school #12. I have a bit of a nomad spirit and love to travel. Two of my favorite places to visit are Bandon, OR because I love the coast and Williamsburg, VA because I really like US history and that place is chalked full of it. I'll probably live in Williamsburg someday even if it's only for a short time because I love it so much. I haven't been out of the country yet but I really want to travel the world. The one place on the top of my list to see before I die is Antarctica. A bit strange, I know, but I just find Antarctica really fascinating.

I'm Eurasian, half white, half Korean. I was born overseas but grew up in the states. I was an army brat so I did move a lot when I was young. I love to read (mostly fiction), watch movies (all kinds), and play games (once again, all kinds).

I have ended up in Oregon for the last 16 years now. I do love the fact that I have an area I can call home now. Overall I'm a pretty laid back guy and do my best to enjoy what life has to offer.

I always like to try to stay busy and go out when I can. Usually I end up relaxing at my apartment and have friends over.

I'm generally a pretty laid back person but occasionally I do get a wild hair and become fixated on something. Usually its something minor such as needing fresh tomatoes for a meal I'm making. My name is Alex, I really enjoy being healthy and going to the gym and running, as well as motorcycle riding and snowboarding in the winter. One of my favorite things is conversation. Being able to have deep conversations with the people that you care about most is something I value highly. I am a student in Oregon State, working on a bachelor of science. Moved here from California and don't see myself moving back there. I enjoy life as much as possible. Life is short and youth is shorter. I am going to Barcelona for spring break soon. My brother wants to have his sister with him for his big 3-0. It's a love of mine, traveling....but the only way I was able to do this was to sell my car. It will be quite a while till I get the chance again. In case any one has seen the movie, Vicky Christina Barcelona, my middle name is Cristina. So I can drink a bloody mary on the plane there, and have a chuckle.
So, what else? Just got back in the swing of things, took a break from being single and now I am back in the saddle again. I can't decide which one I like more. So much to observe and I fidget a lot. I just returned to Portland/Corvallis (mainly located in Corvallis at the moment) from traveling around the United States in a circle for the last year. I love meeting new and interesting people and creating several series of art. I would consider myself extremely out of the ordinary and quite the catch... the problem is, not very many men can handle my creativity and spontaneity. Hey, I am currently in school at OSU in Corvallis but would much rather be back in Portland much of the time as it better suits my personality. As a person I am generally ubber laid back, low stress, and quite independent. I have always wanted to choose high risk, high adrenaline careers even from when I was a little kid giving me an almost endless supply of vibrant energy.

When there is warm weather I love to mountain bike or surf off the coast, Oregon winter surfing is absolutely fantastic although the water is a little more chilly than I like. I am not a bar personality, I would rather drink coffee in intriguing places around a city than I would like to sit in a bar. I am a huge fan of the arts with a special interest in some modern and most impressionist paintings. One tends to make you think about the context and subject while the second captures you with the vivid feelings. During the winter I study and discuss any possible subject imaginable while coiling up like a spring until the warmer days come along, all the time imagining what living in Tahiti or some other tropical place would be like.

I was a nerd back when it wasn't cool. How things have changed! I worked as a chip designer for almost 3 decades. I've been a nerd all my life. Learned computer programming and circuit design while still in high school. That was back when the cheapest computer was about $10,000.

Anyway, about 5 years ago I retired from my job. I am comfortable and secure without it. No debts! I live on investments and renting out parts of my house. I'm not rich. I'm not poor.

I am looking to be stronger by surrounding myself with people who have open hearts and communication and work on not being defensive about growing opportunities. I love silly people who can be serious. I feel very connected to the moon, and the earth. I desire to get out to the ocean at least once a month and go hiking or get outside often. I crave ritual intentional opportunities. I am in love with my dog.

I just divorced my fifth wife. Fortunately, I only have children with 3 of them. I am actively seeking employment so that I can move out of my parents house and maybe even buy a car someday.
